When the reverse osmosis system fails, the main phenomena are as follows:

1) The product water capacity decrease

2) The desalination rate drops thus the product water quality decrease

 

External factors that cause reverse osmosis equipment failure:

1) The feed water quality has changed, but the pre-treatment system has not been optimized accordingly

2) Pretreatment that have not been maintained after long-term operation, the filter material of the multi-media filter is disorderly, the bacteria and microorganisms in the water tank are reproduced seriously, and the filter material of the activated carbon filter is pulverized or the reproduction of microorganisms is severe.

3) The quality of the filter element of the precision filter is poor, and the filtering accuracy is not up to the requirement

4) The performance of the scale inhibitor does not match the quality of the feed water, or is over-diluted, etc.

5) Other dosing system problems: unsuitable flocculants cause membrane element pollution, excessive dosing of oxidant causes membrane elements to be oxidized, and excessive dosing of reducing agent causes serious fouling of membrane elements

6) The instrumentation is not accurate enough to cause the system have judge errors

 

Common failures of reverse osmosis devices:

1) The head of the high-pressure pump selected in the initial design is low, which causes the water production to fail to meet the design requirements when the temperature or the quality of the feed water changes.

2) Damage to the sealing ring causes a decrease in the quality of the produced water

3) The mixed use of new and old membrane elements, and different types of membrane elements cause system performance degradation

4) The design of reverse osmosis recovery rate is unreasonable, and the number of membrane elements is too small

5) System shutdown causes pollutant deposition and bacterial and microbial pollution;

 

Solution to failure of reverse osmosis device:

1) When designing the scale inhibitor dosing system, Haiyuan will use computer simulation dosing software to analyze the quality of the feed water and combine the performance of the agent to provide the most cost-effective agent selection

2) When designing a reverse osmosis system, it is necessary to simulate at least 3 years of operation to ensure the reliability of the high-pressure pump selection, thereby prolonging the service life

3) When installing the security filter, Haiyuan will strictly grasp the tightness of the installation of the security filter element and obtain compaction

4) Pay attention to the regular calibration of the instrument and the regular cleaning of the probe during maintenance

5) Regular chemical cleaning of the reverse osmosis membrane can help restore the performance of the membrane
