In the operation of Water softener equipment, it is often seen that the softened resin runs into the sewer or the water tank, resulting in waste of resin and unqualified softened water. Let's analyze the occurrence and solution of this problem.

The resin resin leakage of softened water occurs during the water production or regeneration process of the running resin water softener (the resin enters the soft water tank or flows out with the sewage), which is called running resin.

The common causes of resin running in the water production process are the rupture of the central pipe, the falling off or rupture of the lower water distributor, and a large amount of softened water resin entering the soft water tank. It is easy to find out by disassembling the resin tank and pulling out the central pipe for inspection. water distributor.

The main reason for resin leakage in the regeneration process (the resin flows out with the sewage) is the rupture of the upper water distributor, and the backwash water inlet pressure is too high and the flow rate is too fast. After confirming that the upper water distributor is not damaged, reduce the backwash water flow rate.

 

Water softener Regeneration steps

1) Open the salt inlet valve, close the other valves, start the raw water pump, suck all the brine in the salt tank into the softener, and leave it for more than 4 hours.

2) After the soft water resin is regenerated, the salt in the water softener must be rinsed before use, according to the manual valve flushing method (including forward flushing and back flushing).

 

The presence of calcium and magnesium ions in water is the main reason for the formation of scale when the water temperature changes. At present, the commonly used softening water equipment in China mainly includes manual type, domestic combined type, domestic multi-valve type and imported multi-way valve type. Among them, the imported multi-way valve type softened water equipment is the main product on the market. With the imported multi-way valve and controller as the core, it is equipped with domestic resin tanks, salt tanks, pipes and other materials to form a fully automatic softening water equipment.

 

As the deposition of scale has a significant impact on hospital medical water and production, both hospital medical water and domestic water have certain requirements for hardness indicators, especially if the decontamination water in the supply room contains hardness salts, it will be extinguished. Scale is formed on the heating surface of the sterilizer, which reduces the sterilization efficiency of the sterilizer, increases the sterilization consumption time, and even damages the parts and causes an explosion due to local overheating of the metal wall. Therefore, water softening treatment should be carried out for the decontamination water in the supply room; water softening and desalination treatment should be carried out for the decontamination water in the supply room.

 

The main reason for resin leakage in the regeneration process (the resin flows out with the sewage) is the rupture of the upper water distributor, and the backwash water inlet pressure is too high and the flow rate is too fast. 1) In the regeneration process, the pressure in the bed is not easy to be too high. This has two purposes: one is to prevent the salt water from being unable to enter due to the high pressure in the bed. The second is to prevent the brine that is being regenerated from leaking into the running bed due to the lax gate of the salt solution in the running bed, resulting in an increase in the hardness or Cl- content of the effluent from the running bed.

 

2) Regular backwashing of the salt filter is due to a certain amount of silt in the industrial salt. If it is not removed, it may enter the softening bed with salt water and accumulate in the resin layer, which will affect the regeneration or operation of the softening bed. In order to ensure the operation effect of the salt filter, the salt filter should be backwashed regularly. Consider backwashing every 25-30d. Backwashing of the salt filter can be performed as normal filter operation.

 

3) The regeneration should not be interrupted. If the regeneration is interrupted, it is easy to cause air to enter the resin layer, thus causing problems that affect the regeneration effect.

 

4) During the regeneration process, always keep monitoring the flow of water in the pipe, indicating that there is a certain thickness of water layer on the resin layer. This has two advantages: one is to prevent air from entering. The second is to avoid the direct impact of salt water on the resin surface, resulting in uneven surface of the resin layer, resulting in bias flow.

 

5) In order to improve the regeneration effect, a two-step regeneration method can be used: first, 1/3 of the salt used for regeneration is made into a relatively dilute concentration (1%-2%). Then the remaining 2/3 is made into a relatively concentrated concentration (8%-10%) for regeneration, which can achieve better results.

 

The installation tips of water softener are as follows:

1) There is no need to do the installation foundation, the foundation can be level; there is a certain gap from the wall, which can be arranged at the corners according to the actual situation.

2) The inlet and outlet pipes are connected by standard flanges or threads, which need to be fixed and supported, and cannot be supported by the valve body to prevent stress.

3) A water pressure gauge should be installed on the water inlet pipe. When the equipment is running, flushing water is discharged, and a floor drain or drainage ditch should be installed nearby; the sewage pipe should not be longer than 6 meters, do not install a stop valve, the outlet should not be higher than the valve body, the terminal opening [to avoid siphoning], and the fewer elbows, the better .

4) If the inlet water pressure is lower than 0.2mpa, a pipeline pump must be installed.

5) The pipeline must be flushed before use to prevent impurities from clogging the valve body and contaminating the resin.

6) Brine pipe: The brine tank should be as close to the softening tank as possible, and the shorter the brine pipe, the better.

7) Install the power distribution socket on the wall near the equipment, should be equipped with a fuse, and require a good grounding.
