How to deal with when RO system can not operate normally

First need to check if the RO system can be turned, then check by process: check whether the power switch cable is disconnected, and reconnect the power cable, then check if the power plug is plugged in and if the power supply is okay. If the system display no water and emit the alarm indicate that the inlet water pressure is lower than the required value. Please check if the water source is open and if the water goes into the system, or if tap water pressure lower than 0.1MPa. If yes, please improve the feed water condition to suitable pressure. If feed water condition is okay, then need to check if pre-treatment filters are blocked, if block, please replace or clean the filter elements.

After test in the field, if found that the reason is that the pressure protection switch on the inlet pipe and the water passage of the pressure protection switch in front of the high-pressure pump were blocked by rust, so can not sensor the pressure, then can not send out the signal to PLC, so the system can not be operated. If test that the output water from sand filter not higher than 1.0NTU and meet the demand to go into the security filter, the security filter should not be blocked.

Cut the same size slice from the blocked security filter and then put in the diluted hydrochloric acid solution. After 5 minutes, if you can see that the security filter core slice in the hydrochloric acid solution has returned to white. Then disassemble the pressure protection switch and find that the water inlet pipe of the pressure protection switch has been blocked by a yellow-brown substance. After cleaning the pipeline, the pressure protection switch can normally reflect the water pressure. Water quality analysis showed that the iron ion content in the water body was as high as 0.5ppm, and the removed reverse osmosis membrane was visible to the naked eye with large pieces of yellow-brown plaques.

Through the inspection of the water inlet pipeline of the RO system, can find that the increase in iron ions is due to the feed water pump. By using feed water pump is to meet the water pressure requirements for pre-treatment filters and ensure that high pressure pump have enough turn-on pressure. But is the salt concentration in the raw water over 1.5g/L, inappropriate selection of the feed water pump will be corrode quickly and cause much iron ions in the pipes. If the system do not install device for iron ions, should change the feed water pump and clean the water pipes to make the system operate normally.

Through the above conditions, it is found that the RO system can not be operated normally or security filters block is because of iron ions increase which ca be dissolved in water, then the water is adsorbed by the security filter or accumulated in the pipeline of the pressure switch. When the equipment is shut down, it will be oxidized by the oxygen in the air and becomes insoluble matter of ferric iron insoluble in water, resulting in the block of security filter core and pipeline, and then affect the normal operation of the system.
