Notes of installing boiler water softener

1. Boiler water softener is the water treatment device for the purpose of preventing boiler fouling.

When the raw water flow through water softener, it can replace calcium ions and magnesium ions originally contained in the raw water to extend the service life of water softener, thereby reduing fuel consumption and cost to a certain extent. During the current boiler-style central heating, water softener has become an indispensable equipment.

2. Installation requirements for boiler water softener

1) The foundation needs to be level, set up a floor drain or drainage ditch nearby to drain the wastewater after resin regeneration, and set the independent power socket near the equipment.

2) The brine tank should be close to the filters, and the salt suction tube should be as short as possible.

3) The Y-type filter and flow meter should be installed on the inlet pipe, and set the sampling valve on the outlet pipe.

4) Install the manual valves on the inlet and outlet pipes, and set a bypass valve between the inlet and outlet points to continue water supply during regeneration or maintenance.

5) If feed water pressure is lower than 0.2MPAa, please add the feed water pump.

6) The salt in the salt tank is required to be industrial salt, and iodized salt and calcium salt are not allowed. To ensure that the concentration of the salt solution in the salt tank can reach saturation, first ensure that the dissolution time is not less than 6 hours, and then regenerate once before using.

7) The pipes must be flushed before using to avoid impurities blocking the valve and contaminating the resin.

8) Place the water softener in an environment where the room temperature is higher than 1°C and lower than 49°C. Keep away from acidic substances and sour gas environment.

3. Pipe connections of boiler water softener

1) The inlet and outlet pipes should be equipped with manual valves, and a bypass valve should be installed between the outlet pipes. One is to facilitate the discharge of residues during the installation and welding process to avoid contamination of the resin; the other is to facilitate maintenance.

2) Shorten the length of the drain pipe as much as possible (<6 meters), and do not install various valves, only using PTFE tape to seal during the installation process.

3) Separate supports must be set up between each pipe, and it is not allowed to transmit the gravity and stress of the pipe to control valve.

4. Installation of water distributor and central pipe of boiler water softener

(1) Use PVC glue to glue the center tube and the water distributor seat together.

(2) Insert the bonded center tube into the resin tank.

(3) Tighten the branch pipe of the water distributor on the water distributor seat.

(4) After the installation of the water distributor is completed, the center pipe should be vertically placed in the center of the exchange tank, and then the PVC pipe above the surface of the tank mouth should be cut off.
