How to replace Filter media for Water treatment plant

1. When replacing the filter material of the water treatment equipment, the tools needed are pipe clamps, sand suction pipes and raw tape

2. Before replacing the quartz sand and activated carbon, the equipment needs to be thoroughly inspected to confirm whether there are undiscovered damaged parts; if any, it should be replaced in time

3. When the equipment is stopped, if there is a reverse osmosis device, the high-pressure pump of the reverse osmosis equipment should be turned off first, and then the raw water pump, to prevent damage to the high-pressure pump when it is empty.

4. When replacing the filter material, the activated carbon is generally replaced first, because the new activated carbon needs to be soaked in water to make it fully moist, and eliminate the internal air so that the activated carbon does not float on the water.

5. The loading of activated carbon should be 60% of the filter tank, leaving enough space for backwashing. After loading the activated carbon, the precipitation is poured in so that the activated carbon is completely immersed

6. When replacing the quartz sand, a small amount of water should be added to the filter tank first. The filling order is that the large particles are on the bottom and the small particles are on the top. The loading volume should be 80% of the filter tank.

7. After the quartz sand is filled, restart the equipment to clean the quartz sand, close the activated carbon inlet valve, and alternate forward and backwash operations until the waste water outlet is clean.

8. After ensuring that the quartz sand is washed clean, open the activated carbon inlet valve. If there is softening, close the softening inlet valve, flush the activated carbon, and alternate forward and backwash operations until the waste water outlet is clean.
