The amount of regeneration agent

In general, if the usage amount of regenerant is large, the exchange capacity of the resin after regeneration will be large, then the product water capacity increase and water quality good. However, since the exchange is carried out on an equivalent basis, the amount of regenerant is increased to a certain extent and then the amount of regenerant is increased, and the increase in resin working exchange capacity will not be obvious.

The amount of regenerating agent is related to the nature of the ion exchange resin. Generally, the amount of regenerating agent required for strong resin is higher than that of weak resin. The amount of regenerant is different for different regeneration methods. Generally, the amount of regenerant for downstream regeneration is higher than that for countercurrent regeneration.

The Flow rate of regeneration agent

The flow rate of the regeneration agent refers to the speed of the regenerated liquid through the water softener system resin, and it is an important factor that affects the degree of regeneration. Maintaining a proper flow rate is actually to make the regeneration agent and the resin have a proper contact time to ensure that the regeneration reaction proceeds.

Therefore, the regeneration effect is directly related to the regeneration flow rate. Sometimes the regeneration time is shortened by increasing the flow rate, and it is difficult to obtain a good regeneration effect even if the dosage of the regeneration agent is doubled.

In the actual operation of water softener system, the following factors are mainly adjusted:

1)      Strictly control the purity of the regeneration agent, and will not accept the regenerant with unqualified purity in the test.

2)      During the regeneration process, select the way of first thinning and then thickening.

3)      Strictly control the flow rate of the regeneration agent.

Through the adjustment of the above factors, the water softener system working exchange capacity can be effectively increased, also the cost can be reduced while product water can be guaranteed.
